well i took a class in college on the Arthurian legend, so i'd know a bit more about it. these days, EVERY old legend is getting messed with and changed... nothing is sacred. Originally, Avalon was the island where King Arther went to at his death... and where he will return to England someday, from.

And yessum, Avalon is an island from Arthurian legend like the dude before me said. It's where Arthur's sword, the Excalibur was originally forged and where the sorceress/witch/whatever Morgan le Fay resided.
